Оказывается, взять кота из приюта не так просто
Я еще не решилась, но поглядываю в сторону "котоприемников". Оказывается, не все так просто с ними, никто не бегает с корзинкой "только заберите". Подход к раздаче бесхозных хвостатых впечатляет своей... ответственностью, что ли. И заявка на "усыновление" - закачаешься. Я удивлена, что про размер дохода не спрашивают (видимо, косвенно выясняют во время визита).
Adopting a friend
Fat Cat Rescue does not do same-day adoptions, meaning you cannot take your cat home from the adoption fair. We believe that adopting a cat is a commitment, and that adopters need sufficient time to decide whether they can commit to caring for the cat for the rest of its life.
Adoption fee: $50 per Fat Cat.
The adoption process is a 4 step program: submit, review, visit, take delivery.
* Submit: Fill out an Adoption Application.
* Review: A member of our Adoption Team will review your application to answer any questions you may have, and determine whether you and your selected Fat Cat(s) are a suitable match.
* Visit: If the Fat Cat is comfortable with you (we really believe some cats and people were meant to be together) and you've fallen in love, then we'll come visit your home to make certain it's safe and secure for your new member of your family.
* Take delivery: We'll then deliver your new best friend(s) to your home. You'll need to the sign an Adoption Contract, and pay the adoption fee. You'll then receive your Fat Cat adoption packet.
Please note: We usually limit our adoptions to homes on the San Francisco Peninsula. We do this because we visit your home before finalizing an adoption to ensure it is safe for your new cat(s). If you have any questions about this, please contact us.
Every Fat Cat has been:
* spayed (females) or neutered (males)
* vaccinated against panleukopenia (feline distemper), rhinotracheitis, and calicivirus (FVRCP vaccine)
* tested for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia (FeLv)
* microchipped
* dewormed
* treated for fleas
* examined by and received a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian
Every Fat Cat adoption packet includes:
* your Fat Cat's medical records
* a guide to caring for your Fat Cat
* a small transition bag of his/her current dry cat food
* and let's not forget -- TOYS!
Кстати, если уж взял животное, по законам Калифорнии отказаться от него нельзя (в смысле выставить на улицу). Не знаю, как решают этот вопрос люди, которые по каким-то причинам не могут больше держать животных. Л. вон нашла себе жениха с аллергией на кошек, перед началом совместной жизни ей пришлось отдать двух своих котов знакомым. Можно ли его отдать обратно в шелтер, если никто из знакомых, к примеру, не хочет брать?
